NAC Scholarship winners awarded

CHICAGO (September 23, 2002) - The National Association of Concessionaires (NAC) has named Lisle Hinderks of Ames, Iowa, and Laurie Smith of Gilbert, Ariz., the recipients of the 2002 NAC Scholarships. Hinderks and Smith, both freshmen in college, will each receive a $2,500 college scholarship.

Hinderks is studying fashion merchandising and design at Iowa State University in Ames. She is the daughter of Kelly and Timothy Hinderks, an NAC member who works as concession manager at Iowa State. Lisle was active in high school as a student ambassador, in a community service organization, and as a cheerleader. She also worked part-time in concessions at the Iowa State Center.

Smith is attending Arizona State University in Tempe, Ariz. She is preparing for a career in pediatrics. During high school, Laurie was an active volunteer at Desert Samaritan Hospital in pediatrics. She is the daughter of Linda and Scot Smith, an NAC member who works as food and beverage manager for the City of Mesa.
