The scope of the NAC Concession Manager Certification course reached new territory as the first-ever NAC certification course taught in Spanish was held September 9 through 12 in Mexico City, Mexico.
The 36 attendees represented nine different countries throughout Central and South America and the program was taught by NAC Director of Education Shelley Feldman and simultaneously translated into Spanish.
Damian Piza, CCM, an NAC Board member from Cinemex Theatres, orchestrated the translation of the certification workbook, handouts and exam and hosted the program. Piza noted that the on-site translation went very smoothly.
"We had earplugs for everyone so when Shelley was talking there were two women that translated the same sentence into Spanish and students could follow the class almost perfectly," Piza said.
