Mentor program to debut at 2001 Convention

Calling all NAC members who have attended at least one convention: We Need You!

This year's NAC Annual Convention & Trade Show will feature a new Mentor Program. Those attending the NAC Convention for the first time will be paired with veteran members who will assist them in navigating the convention and show.

The Mentor Program is being instituted by the NAC Membership/Marketing Committee, led by chair Chris Bigelow of The Bigelow Companies, Kansas City, MO. "Attending a convention for the first time can be intimidating," states Bigelow. "Our goal is to make the process easier - to help first time attendees and non-members meet people and ensure that their experience is one that will keep them returning to the convention and active in the association."

Bigelow and his committee will be serving as mentors, and are looking for volunteers from the membership to assist them. "There are lots of members out there who have attended many conventions, know a great variety of people, and would be terrific ambassadors to our new attendees and members," continues Bigelow. "It's also a great way to meet your colleagues from across the country and around the world."

Mentors must be NAC members who have attended at least one convention and plan to be at the 2001 convention May 8-11 in San Francisco.
