Three elected to NAC Board

Three new members were added to the NAC Board of Directors at the Annual Membership Meeting in Arlington, VA. Randy Collins, ECM, of the Charlotte Coliseum Authority, Charlotte, NC, and Krista Schulte of The Coca-Cola Company, Atlanta, GA, were elected as directors at large. Damian Piza Velazquez, CCM, of Cinemex, Mexico City, Mexico, was appointed by President Skip Stefansen to serve as regional vice president for Mexico.

Randy Collins, ECM, has been a member of NAC since 1991, received his CCM certification in that year, and was in the first class of Executive Concession Managers (ECM) last year. In addition, Collins stepped in to teach a CCM course earlier this year. Collins began his concessions career working for Volume Services/Interstate United, then moved to general manager positions in Virginia Beach, VA, and Chapel Hill, NC, for Ogden Allied Services. In 1988 he became director of leisure operations for the Charlotte Coliseum Authority, which includes Charlotte Coliseum, Charlotte Convention Center, Independence Arena, and Ovens Auditorium. He is a member of the International Association of Auditorium and Arena Managers (IAAM), Association of Luxury Suite Directors (ALSD), and the National Restaurant Association (NRA).

Damian Piza Velazquez, CCM, is director of concessions for Cinemex theatre circuit in Mexico. Piza began his concessions career in 1996 as an analyst for Cinemex after receiving his MBA in Belgium. He was named to his current position in January of 1999. Cinemex, headquartered in Mexico City, has 268 screens in 25 locations in Mexico. Piza has been a member of the association since 1998, and received his CCM designation that same year.

Krista Schulte is theatre marketing asset manager for The Coca-Cola Company, and is based out of Atlanta. Schulte is a recent new member of the association, but has been involved in NAC activities for several years.
