Pre-Convention Educational Opportunities

In 2010, NAC is offering both of the association's highly-regarded concession certification programs prior to the start of the NAC Convention in Houston, Both of these programs are a separate fee from the convention, include no convention activities, and pre-registration and payment is necessary.

The NAC Concession Manager Certification course is the highlight of the association's educational programs. For over 20 years this program has offered targeted, concessions-specific education that provides the tools and skills needed to manage a concessions program efficiently and profitably. Many of those who have taken the class report an increase in per capitas or a decrease in costs after completing the course. The program outline includes sections on Management, Profit Planning, Cost Control Systems, Menu Planning, Branding, and more. The CCM course will take place Wednesday, July 21 through Saturday, July 24 at the Hilton Americas Hotel in Houston and will be taught by NAC instructor Larry Etter, CCM. To register, or for more information, click here.

The Executive Concession Manager program, available to NAC Concession Manager Certification graduates (CCMs), is a hands-on program for management and executive-level concession professionals. Graduation from the CCM course is a prerequisite for entrance into the ECM course.

The 2-day course, which is highly interactive, builds upon the basic CCM course while providing specific tools and concepts that are needed at the executive level. There is no exam for the ECM course. Those completing the course may use the designation ECM (Executive Concession Manager). Topics covered in the course include Request for Proposals, a Case Study, Finances, and Negotiating. The ECM course will take place Friday and Saturday, July 23 and 24, at the Hilton Americas Hotel in Houston and will be taught by NAC Director of Education Shelley Feldman.
