Social Functions

Evening social functions, breakfasts and luncheons offer NAC convention attendees the opportunity to network and interact in a casual and fun environment. These events are where old friendships are renewed, new contacts are initiated, and relationships are formed that last far beyond the end of the convention.

As always, the social events at the NAC Annual Convention will provide attendees with a fun and relaxed atmosphere in which to socialize and interact with their peers. Previous evening social events have included evenings at Fenway Park, Angel Park, and other major stadiums and arenas; an evening of food, drink and live comedy entertainment; access and private events at major parks and attractions, and more.

Information social events for the 2012 Convention will be forthcoming. For your information, below are the events held at the 2011 Convention in Anaheim.

Tuesday

The convention kicks off with the NAC Convention Opening Party, featuring the NAC Silent Auction, at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel. Guests will enjoy cocktails and appetizers while bidding on all types of auction items. Proceeds from the Silent Auction will benefit NAC educational programs.

Wednesday

Wednesday morning will start with the NAC 5K Run/2K Walk before breakfast. The Run/Walk will begin right outside of the Grand Californian doors and circle around the Disney Resort properties. Pre-registration is necessary.

Wednesday will include breakfast followed by educational sessions and lunch. The afternoon will feature product presentations by NAC Trade Show exhibitors.

Wednesday evening's social event will be held at the Queen Mary in Long Beach.

Thursday

Thursday will feature the NAC Annual Membership Luncheon, which includes a short business meeting, information on NAC activities over the past year, and installation of officers to the NAC Board of Directors, including incoming Board President John Evans Jr. of Gold Medal Products Company. All full convention or one-day registrants are welcome to attend.

The membership luncheon also includes the presentation of the 2011 NAC Mickey Warner Award. The Mickey Warner award is presented annually to an individual who has been active in NAC, providing positive leadership direction, significant contributions to the development, education, quality and professionalism of the concessions industry, significant accomplishments and longevity to the non-theatre concessions industry and current active involvement in non-theatre concessions at the executive level.

Thursday evening attendees will be hosted at Disney's California Adventure Park, where they will have dinner, access to the park, and reserved viewing for the new World of Color show.

Friday

A customized three-hour keynote and behind-the-scenes program by Disney Parks foodservice will be the closing session of the convention.
